For Those In Peril:
Wins award at the British Independent Film Awards

Director Paul Wright wins best debut director award for final Warp X film For Those in Peril at the British Independent Film Awards, 8 December 2013.

The film is the tenth and final film on the Warp X slate, produced by Mary Burke (Berberian Sound Studio, Submarine) and Polly Stokes (The Organ Grinder's Monkey) and is also the debut feature film for director Paul Wright.

The film was selected for the Cannes Film Festival Critics Week 2013 earlier this year and has already received two Scottish BAFTAs for Best Feature Film and Best Actor (George MacKay).  The British Independent Film Award ceremony took place on 8 December 2013 at the Old Billingsgate, where Paul Wright received the Douglas Hickox award for Best Debut Director.

Paul Wright has already directed several award-winning shorts including: Hikikomori which received a Scottish BAFTA, Believe which won a Golden Leopard for Best International short at Locarno Film Festival, and Until the River Runs Red which was awarded with a BAFTA in 2010 for best short film.

For Those In Peril Synopsis

Aaron (George Mackay) is the lone survivor of a fishing trip that claimed the lives of five men including his older brother, Michael (Jordan Young). Unable to remember the details of their trip, and feeling the weight of the community’s collective grief, Aaron’s sense of helplessness escalates into the belief that Michael and the other men somehow survived.

The Warp X feature was filmed on location in Gourdon, Scotland and stars George MacKay (Defiance), Kate Dickie (Red Road, Prometheus) and Nichola Burley (Donkey Punch).

Shane Meadows' feature documentary The Stone Roses: Made of Stone was nominated for Best British Documentary and Shynola's short Dr Easy was nominated for Best British Short.
