Receives 10 Nominations from Australian Academy Awards

 

Justin Kurzel's debut feature receives 10 nominations at the Australian Academy Cinema Television Arts awards (AACTA)

In August 2011, the AFI launched the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA), with the aim of elevating the status of Australian film and television nationally and internationally.

Snowtown, produced by Warp Films Australiahas been nominated for the following:

Best Film - Snowtown

Best Direction - Justin Kurzel

Best Adapted Screenplay - Shaun Grant

Best Cinematography - Adam Arkapaw

Best Editing - Veronika Jenet ASE

Best Sound - Frank Lipson MPSE, Andrew McGrath, Des Kenneally, Michael Carden, John Simpson, Erin McKimm

Best Original Music Score - Jed Kurzel

Best Lead Actor - Daniel Henshall

Best Supporting Actress - Louise Harris

AFI Members Choice Award - Snowtown

Winners will be announced on the 15 of January (Craft awards) and 31 January (Film Writing & Acting Awards) at the Sydney Opera House. For more on the nominees and the Australian Academy Awards visit the Australian Film Institute website.
