ReAnimate is the new animation development initiative from Warp Films and Birds Eye View with the support of Skillset Film Skills Fund.
Focussing on the worlds of screenwriting and animation, we will select up to 20 exceptional British women and equip them with the contacts and creative support they need to produce smart, commercial, animation ideas for the international marketplace.
The ReAnimate programme will offer participants the opportunity to enjoy specialist workshops, meet with experienced mentors to develop their projects, attend a residential retreat, gain a better understanding of the industry and have an exclusive opportunity to pitch projects for the Warp development slate. The focus will be on forming new creative alliances and hot-housing animation projects in a relaxed and stimulating environment.
After the residential, participants will have the opportunity to pitch new animation ideas to Warp Films for inclusion on its development slate. A number of individual projects and creative teams will be selected for development support with the intention that the projects will go into production from late 2011.
*ReAnimate is heavily subsidized by public funding. However, each participant in ReAnimate 1 is asked to contribute a fee of £150 (exclusive of VAT) towards the training and those progressing to ReAnimate 2 a further £300 (a total of £450 exclusive of VAT). The £150 fee will be due upon acceptance of an offer, immediately after selection and the £300 upon acceptance of an offer to ReAnimate 2.
Travel and accommodation costs for the residential are included in this fee. We have some limited bursaries available to assist with childcare costs. For more information about bursary support or for any other queries about the programme, please email reanimate@warpfilms.com.
