Warp Films Warp Films Warp go to Toronto International Film Festival

Warp Films:
Warp go to Toronto International Film Festival

The Toronto International Film Festival takes place from September 10th – 19th.

Warp X future releases Bunny & the Bull and She, A Chinese have been officially selected at Toronto.

They will both feature in the Vanguard category, which is described by the Festival as the programme that, ‘spotlights bold filmmakers that run ahead of the pack. It is dedicated to irreverent, stylistically playful films that challenge the boundaries of social discourse. Aimed toward adventurous audiences who delight in movies that push the envelopes of technology, culture and sexuality, these edgy films have a distinct, youthful feel.’

Bunny & the Bull

TIFF say: 'Road movies are one of cinema's finest traditions, and the genre is about to receive a boost with the addition of Bunny & the Bull, a road movie that takes place in a flat. More specifically, this trip occurs within one man's mind inside that flat — and an intense, emotional, freewheeling booze-, sexand seafood fuelled journey it is.'

It will be screened to the public on:

September 16th at 8.15pm at the Scotiabank Theatre

September 18th at 11.46am at the Scotiabank Theatre

She, A Chinese

TIFF describe as a  'rock 'n' roll odyssey that follows a young woman on a soul-searching journey... a truly nationless movie, addressing contemporary issues that trespass borders and blur socio-political lines into a globalized world of shared values and collective problems. Challenging the visual style of traditional Chinese cinema, novelist and filmmaker Guo Xiaolu focuses her subtle narrative on an enigmatic woman who creates her own path. Framed in chapters and often using short, lyrical captions or silent, beautifully composed snapshots of landscapes, the film is an unpretentiously sophisticated hybrid of documentary, creative writing, visual poetry and cinema.

It will be screened to the public on:

September 11th at 3.15pm at the Scotiabank Theatre

September 12th at 8.00pm at the AMC 5

September 18th at 8.30am at the Scotiabank Theatre
