Upcoming performances with The Wordless Music Orchestra and The BBC Symphony Orchestra

01/02/2011
Composer and multi-instrumentalist Tyondai Braxton will embark on a multi-continent tour in 2011. Prestigious venues from New York's Lincoln Center to London's Barbican will see the live performance premieres of music from his 2009 Warp release, Central Market.

The US dates will feature the Wordless Music Orchestra, conducted by Caleb Burhans, while London will see the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by André de Ridder, as part of Reverberations: The Influence of Steve Reich.

Some Praise for Central Market

"Loony, anarchic, solemn and extremely beautiful." - NEW YORK TIMES

"(Central Market) is a series of moody, challenging compositions that could be described as equal parts Glenn Gould and Brian Eno, with a dousing of Phil Spector." - WIRED

"Experimental and sly ... Central Market is searchingly big and magnanimous." - 8/10 PITCHFORK
