LoneLady invited Channel 4 News to experience the wastelands and disused warehouses of her hometown of Manchester that she takes inspiration from.

Having aired on Channel 4 News’ broadcast on Sunday 6 November, the short film shines a light on some of the unique spaces that influenced LoneLady AKA Julie Campbell’s latest album ‘Hinterland’, with the Manchester born artist further discussing the ongoing development of her hometown and her fears for the spaces she holds dear.

LoneLady: The music of Manchester's satanic mills

Released 23 March this year, LoneLady’s album ‘Hinterland’ channels Parliament/Funkadelic, Stevie Wonder, Prince and Arthur Russell…among others. A strange – but nonetheless real – meeting of funk and…well…me, from Audenshaw, Manchester.”
