New EP - This Desert - to be released May 17/18. Listen to track 'Ghosts' now and see European live dates

Following the announcement of their first single Dressed in Dresden - our new Brooklyn-based duo The Hundred in the Hands are set to release their first full EP on Warp entitled 'This Desert' on May 17th/18th.

Listen to the new track 'Ghosts' below and check their first run of European shows which follow the April 6th launch event in NYC.

This Desert strikes a path that touches on elegant French pop, blissed out dub, house and post-punk. The 6-track EP sets the stage for deeper explorations on a full-length later this year.

The Hundred in the Hands is Jason Friedman and Eleanore Everdell.

The recently-signed group makes emotionally charged and intensely driving music, which harks back to the most classic of dance songs from NYC’s storied underground. The band describes the EP as, “The more ethereal, gauzy side of our tastes; the Summertime-Gothic and dreamy tracks we made thinking they’d go well with open hydrants and looks that kill.” But The Hundred in the Hands’ self-description belies more than just a dance band. Everdell and Friedman bend and blend styles, sounds and eras into something that doesn’t feel confused, fake or forced. It just feels fun.

This Desert EP will follow on the heels of its forthcoming “Dressed in Dresden” 12” single. The critically acclaimed single comes packed with huge remixes from Detroit techno wunderkind Kyle Hall, London bass maestros Various (aka Various Production) and NYC-via-Paris party monster Maxime for diverse contributions to the original song’s expansive verve. NME alternately describes it as a “Polyrhythmic beauty” and “Nonchalant vocals, juddering guitars with rumbling doom bass…” and Q magazine adds, “You really can’t help but fall in love with this track.”

To coincide with the release of “Dressed In Dresden” on April 6, the band will play alongside James Fucking Friedman, Max Pask, Jacques Renault and The Rapture (DJ set) at Santo’s Party House in New York City. (The first 40 people to pre-order the single from the U.S. Pre-Order link below and email confirmation # to will get in free.)
The forthcoming This Desert EP - along with the 'Dresden' remixes - merely scratches the surface of their varied sensibilities. Look out for the band this summer as they share these songs and more...
