Since signing to Warp in September, Future Brown have moved quickly to release a 12” and announce their debut album for release in February next year.
Back in February, The Guardian wrote about the formation of the supergroup and their simultaneous “DIY ethos” and “unwaveringly high-definition” aesthetic despite just two tracks being available online - ‘Wanna Party ft Tink’ and ‘World’s Mine ft. Prince Rapid, Dirty Danger, Roachee’. The two tracks went on to form the backbone to their first release for Warp, though not the first time members of the group had been involved in releases by the label - see Nguzunguzu’s remix of Darkstar’s ‘Timeaway’. Since the announcement of their signing, the group have appeared in Pitchfork’s ‘Rising’ feature and an in-depth interview with The Fader now that the release of their first album has been set for February 23rd.
The ‘Future Brown’ LP is currently available for pre-order with downloads of ‘Talkin’ Bandz’ and ‘Wanna Party ft Tink’, via Bleep and iTunes. Both tracks can be streamed via the band’s SoundCloud and a video, premiered by Art Basel, for ‘Vernáculo feat. Maluca’ is available at the Pérez Art Museum's website.
