Darkstar:
Listen to a Motor City Drum Ensemble remix taken from the first of two upcoming remix EPs

The first of two remix 12", titled '01484' and due for release on October 14 (15 in North America), will include remixes by Darkstar and Motor City Drum Ensemble of tracks from the 2013 album 'News from Nowhere'.

Listen to 'A Day's Pay for a Day's Work (Motor City Drum Ensemble Remix)' below or on Soundcloud.

'01484' is available digitally and on 12" vinyl from

iTunesBleep / Amazon / Google Play

The A-side sees the group rework the tracks, 'Young Hearts' and 'Armonica', whilst the B-side contains the German producer Motor City Drum Ensemble's remix of 'A Day's Pay for a Day's Work'.

A second remix 12", titled 'HD7', will be out later this year and is set to include a remix by Zomby, more details coming soon.

On the titles of the two 12" releases, the band said,
“01484 and HD7 are the dial code and postal code of Huddersfield and its surrounding areas. We chose to use them on the 12”s as the remixes are an extension of the record 'News from Nowhere' which was recorded in Slaithwaite West Yorkshire”.

Following performances at Sonar, Fuji Rock and Green Man this year, Darkstar are set to headline the Dummy Magazine AGM at London Fields on Saturday 28 September, tickets are available from billetto.co.uk. Also, look out for details of the band's performance at Bristol's Simple Things Festival in October.
