As we are sure almost everyone reading this site will be aware, the BBC Trust announced plans this week to close its digital station 6Music, as part of a strategic review of its service.
Since its launch in 2002, 6Music has steadily grown into a source of discovery for some of the most interesting music on national radio, with a remit to support alternative acts that do not regularly hit the upper reaches of the UK sales charts.
