Universal Everything & You - Drawing in Motion

The exhibition comprised of two parts: 1000 Hands and Presence and was installed at Media Space in the Science Museum in London from September 2013 - February 2014.

1000 Hands is created through contributions from the public through a smart phone app. In the physical space, it takes the form of a circular projection, with screens showing individual user-generated artworks.

Presence is a circular four-screen video installation showing moving abstract forms revealing a human presence. These life-size abstract forms were created by motion-captured performances of dancers from Benjamin Millepied’s LA Dance Project. The projections show the dancers in a growing number of digital ‘costumes’, for example, glowing feathers or elaborate sculptural trails.

Simon Pyke’s evolving soundtrack amplifies and recedes over time in relation to the works moving in unison on screen, view a taster of the exhibition below and view animated GIFs from the exhibition via Google+ and Tumblr.
