Following ten years of mixed disciplinary work across the globe, acclaimed artist and musician Mira Calix returned to Warp for the first time in a decade with utopia. The basis for utopia stemmed from the Random Acts film of the same name, written and directed by internationally acclaimed novelist Adam Thirlwell. Signalling her return to electronic instrumentation, Mira Calix envisioned her own scope of what utopia is with four tracks of found sound and offcuts of existing sonic material from her personal library, all pieced together in an abstracted collage style. Needless to say, anyone who has travelled along her musical path before will find much to absorb themselves into here.
