Mount Kimbie lock in Marcel Dettmann, Gerd Janson and Ellen Allien for the second session of eyes down remixes lifted from the group's most recent album, Love What Survives.
First up, Marcel Dettmann and Gerd Janson each tackle Four Years And One Day, with Dettmann dropping the barest elements of Kimbie's original into a wild, mid-morning B'hain session. Indulging us with his trademark hefty kickdrum and sharp hi-hat sound, before Janson offers a transformation towards a higher state of consciousness with a euphoric acid and elemental zonal dub. Ellen Allien meanwhile slices and dices T.A.M.E.D into two sure shot big room tech-house DJ tools. Each one a peak time tune for the right dancefloors, DJs or headphone commutes.
Great to hear some more motorik techno ripples resonating out across the group's post-punk sound.
